Dream II

                                                                   Work in progress

(Having amazing bizarre dreams lately~ Going to try and document some random bits of them here. After all, don't dreams and art spun from the same thread?)

 I had a dream.

"You just missed him." The driver looks me slyly as the car takes a sharp turn. He's referring to the huge black cat that just ran passed, who I have a inkling is something(one) else.

I walked into this crowded temple built from slabs of rough white stone. The people are murmuring and shouting in anger: "The holy water is tampered!" The stream is not small, and cupped with gold. There are some twigs and leaves inside but nothing else.

In front of me there's a brilliant woven carpet, the gold threads shining. "Look, this thread is you. and the carpet is the whole &(&^*^." Someone says. In front of me the pattern starts to change. my thread turns from blue to red, but it's almost unnoticeable among the fast emerging and subsiding patterns. Suddenly, the whole upper right corner of the carpet seems to deepen in color to a rich black, and the thread on that part disappearing and losing in color. "That's a genocide." The man tells me.

This is beautiful, I love your work. Which program do you use more often with your digital stuff?

Thanks! David, this is as of now purely in Painter. Once i am happy with all the colors i will port it to photoshop and work completely in that.

That is wonderful and nearly pin point accurate. It's a shame I could only write about it.

Sup Shelly

We actually met at the San Diego Comicon in like 2009, the first year you had a booth. I still have your signed print of "Salome" up on my wall. Someone was trying to interrupt and offer you a job/contract or something very important and I cut them off:
"EXCUSE ME! I'm meeting Shelly Wan" ha ha :)

Your dream is (eerily) a perfect example of Jungian symbolism in dreams, specifically Alchemy. Blue, then Red, then Black (in that exact order)is a symbol of metamorphosis or individuation. Think of iron being forged: Blue/green = organic flawed ore in the earth, Red = when the iron is heated by fires and melts, Black or yellow = when the metal cools and putrefies eventually forged in pure metal.
The altar or any kind of church ( or four sided room) represent the totality of the self. The gold is ones true self in balance. The black cat is likely your Animus/Anima: your shadow self (not bad or evil, just subconscious) look up "Jung" and "Alchemy" if this sounds cool. Klimt was a big fan of Jung as well

I would think there has been a great change in your life and you are being confronted by your subconscious. Very excitng! something even more life-changing is about to happen :)
