Back from D.C. Galleries

Over the long weekend i went to DC in hope of seeing some Dewings at the Freer gallery. It was an expensive trip and really nerdy, but man did i desired it. The time was too short for a real enjoyment of the pieces(had to hit six different museums in 2 1/2 days), but i had taken pictures almost franticly so i can look at them now in leisure. And now i can share some with you too~ Below are pieces by different artists, i might add their names later, but now i better get to bed~ :-)

update~

...

Finished. it will be hard to get a round frame... :(

A Wonderful first show~ Thank you everybody!

I lost a night or two sleep over this, not counting all the preparation work that was exhausting, but when it's all over i am really glad i went and did it. Thanks for everyone that came by despite the insanely hot weather!

And a BIG thank you, to the Affaire of the Garden Juries that awarded me the "Best of Show" honor. i was shocked!
Especially Thank you, Mindy~ for helping me out so much and asking for nothing in return~ i will owe u dinners for eternity~ ^____^

I am busily working on the "Web Shop" section right now, from which you could order Giclees or prints of mine. i think by this weekend it will be up and running~ Thank you for visiting! If you have any questions or suggestions feel free to leave them~

Sincerely,
Shelly W.

Help!

Does anyone has Imagine FX's august or september issue from last year? i want to bring my copy to the show but cant find it on my shelf... >____< If someone can lend a hand and scan in the paragraph about my art and send it to me it would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the trouble!

Fin~ 6 hours.

i will be bringing some of my semi dry oils and original drawings to the Beverly Hills show. i thought about bringing the Magic Artists' proofs, but decided against it~ Saving that for the good people at the San Diego Comic con, which i will be attending as well, sharing a booth with some friends. ^____^

Work in progress from Jeremy's class last night. Can't wait for next week's session~ :)

Been very busy, hasn't visit here for a while. Thanks for all the kind remarks! ^____^

I am participating in a garden setting art show in the beautiful Beverly hills. It would be my first time attending this type of event, and i am very hyped!! Busy printing Gyclees, archival prints and postcards... I hope everyone that lives in the area could come out and join me for some art, demos, music, wine and sun~~

My canopy will be between Rexford Dr. and Crescent Dr. You could also get more info here. See you there~ :P

Update: painting from Jeremy's class:

Busy~

Viruses!

i like this one quite a bit. too bad i miss the first 3 hours of the pose... .\/.

the finish. a labor of work but really nothing inspiring.

It's been so long since i updated~ Mostly due to the viruses of all sorts swarming around~ First i had to live a whole weekend without my computer(O____O) because it was so "dirty" i had to let a technician reinstall my windows... and then there's that mega strong office flu that just won't go away.... Well you catch my drift.

Work's been pretty busy as well~ i doubt there will be any thing besides these life paintings for my blog for a while. but it's always nice to read the kind remarks you blog travelers make... :D thank you so much for cheering up a sneezing soul~

Some cool links to share with you. There is this MOST amazing lineup of painting/drawing workshops from Watts atelier: you have to check it out!! and after a myspace page, Jeremy has a blog as well to showcase his amazing new paintings~ :)

bye now,
sw

Being the lazy old me...

Got sick with the flu last week, and just have been tired and lazy ever since... Downloaded some of my old favorite Lucas Art games because of the craving i got for them when i was too sick to do anything else, and can't stop playing them...!
Did you know that Orson Scott Card wrote the dialogues for the Sword fighting Insults in Monkey Island 1???!!! I learn something new every day. :) what a great series!!!! i wish the genre is still around cause it's the only one for me... But then again maybe it's a good thing that it's gone now, so i actually make art sometime~~~

my Favorite Adventure Game of ALL TIME:
1. The Longest Journey
2. Neverhood
3. The Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes: the Case of the Rose Tattoo

If anyone knows of anyway to run Rose Tattoo on a XP please tell me!!! i never finished that game... *___* Then again... maybe don't tell me...

Forgive my blahing~~

Finished. i was hating it all the way through cause i like the unfinished part MUCH better.

this week's unfinished painting~

Magic the Gathering~

Update with Bigger version~ it was a exploration with watercolor that went wrong, so i am not really happy with the colors ~ oh well.

One of the very first cards i did for WoTC is finally coming out~ ^___^ Hope you enjoy it~

and you can see the other two here and here.

Story Devourer
(District XB4001, Hollywood)

Tell me a story
a jolly good one please

of glass castles that glare
in the sky that baths in grease

of steel beasts that roar
down the paths that never cease

Tell me a story
Six dollars a piece

of knights that fought each other
by comparing their heart decease

of witches that changed into maidens
fat from their thighs transferred to their knees

Tell me a story
and in it you shall dwell~
forever without release

Thought up the verses before i started to think of the pic~ just a speed painting of tonite. a bit on the angry side, but oh well, try driving on the 101 and you will know what i mean.

Update: Unfinished painting from Jeremy's Workshop. If anyone's interested there's another one starting after next week, and there's still one or two slots. i will be there again~ :)
