Hi Shelly, your painting looks great, the shimmering fabrics and oval format remind me of paintings from 18th century Britain :) I looked through the rest of your blog and your other works are awesome, I can see a little Brangwyn and Pyle in there too. Anyway, keep it up! your work is very inspiring for prospective Art Center students like me

Very nice, I like how you let the ground show through in parts for highlights.

Bloody round frames. Still, really composes the picture well.

Dear Miss Wan,

Can you please stop doing art for at least 20 years so the rest of us can catch our breath and get in some serious practice time?

Thanks so much.

Hi Shelly,
I come back to your blog for some time now and always enjoy it.
I like especially your classic approach to painting in the classes you take and how you translate that to your fantastic illustrations.
All the best!

I am interested in knowing what school you went to and what training you got in the States. Do you work in oils? I think the training in China may be superior to that in the U.S.
I work mostly in watercolor, but want to try water-soluble oils...are these any good, do you know?
Your work is exquisite...

Would love a reply.

Thanks,

Genie Chow

Hello Shelly.

If I may make a suggestion in regards to framing. Why not get a mat with an oval shape cut into it, and then use a normal frame?

Just a suggestion, feel free to take it or leave it.

Oh and it is an awesome painting.

Wow, I fell in love with a couple of your pieces I randomly found on the internet, but I had no idea who the artist was. I was wonderfully surprised when I found you at the SD comic con. I'm in love with your work, it's just gorgeous.

Wow, you really are crazy talented!

Thought I'd look you up and instantly found you on Manu's page...now that I can actually remember your name.

Greetings,

Simon
