The Perfume OST

Watched "Beowulf" in the new Arclight Sherman oaks on its opening night, Friday. It's great! The lobby even features costumes and the air thingy from "No country for old man". O___O yeah you know what i mean. The movie was way better than expected. but then again i never expected it to be great. It had a great script thanks to Neil Gaiman, and because i didn't know the story before it was a good surprise.

i kept listening to the OST of "Perfume" this whole week as if i need it to breathe. so i figure i should post it here to get you all addicted as well. Addition's better when everyone's doing it no? :)

edit: Sunday painting.

hey, thanks for the links!

the happy together photos are great! some of the photos are from the "Buenos Aires Zero Degrees" documentary. If you have the DVD, it should be on there as a bonus feature. Absolutely amazing. WKW shoots without a script--at first he didn't know if there was going to be a heterosexual realtionship or not. There was an insane amount of extra footage, and i think it really captures some of the beautifully lonely aspects of living in a foreign place.

phil hale's stuff is awesome! i've seen it before in the Spectrum books. I like the pieces that don't have too much of a thin, brittle outline feel. The palette he uses is really Wyeth-like in some ways too.

SJS is an awesome painter. SomeoneI know did a copy of the St. George painting back at Associates when I was first there.

Nice work! I like your color sense. I just watched Perfume last night. I really enjoyed it. Great story, cinematography acting and soundtrack.

It's great to see you diving into oils Shelly. This piece shows how much progress you've made in such a short time. Where are you studying?

Hi Shelly!!!

It's such a GREAT honor to write you! Yeah, I know my comment is way too late on this one, but I thought I'd never find another human being addicted to Perfume OST!!! My name is Rafael Sarmento, and I'm a illustrator (and founder) of ImageNation Studio, here in the south of Brazil - and I'm a double bass player in the city's symphony orchestra, and I'm deeply moved with that soundtrack, it's REALLY great isn't??? All of those oriental textures and landscapes of inspiration...
Well, hope I hear(read!) from you sometime ok???
Best wishes,
Rafael

PS>>>I'm a REALLY HUGE FAAAANNNNN of you, can't believe I'm writing to ya!!!

The Perfume OST is a great piece of work. I especially loved "The Crowd Embrace", the chilling sopranos to the powerful basses kept it on repeat mode in my CD player.. I wish I could see a live performance of it..
